Your coach can help you with time management, stress management, healthy relationships, relational skills, and effective communication. Coaching is a springboard, not a destination. What is the difference between coaching and counseling?
There are several identifiable differences between coaching and counseling, but here are some key points:
Coaching:
Professional coaching is focused on present and future goal setting.
Helps establish and develop client's personal and professional goals through personalized action plans.
Provides support by introducing or developing skills and strategies for client goals.
Provides insight to mentally fit clients, not clinical intervention.
Does not diagnose, assess, or treat mental health disorders.
Counseling:
Counseling professionals have the ability to assess, diagnose, or treat mental health disorders.
Provides mental health intervention through assessment and therapy.
May focus on the past in order to understand the present and future.
Provides clinical intervention according to license.
Facilitates and applies psychotherapy treatment.
